fxv v0.12.3

Released 2026-10-21

  • Added fxv user list command, so you can properly track your users.
  • Usernames passed to the CLI are no longer case-sensitive.

fxv v0.12.2

Released 2026-10-15

  • Breaking: Changed the repository format. Repositories and workspaces used with fxv 0.11.0 to 0.11.3 must be upgraded with fxv repo upgrade before this version can use them, and commands exit with code 96 until then. See Upgrade Your Repository.
  • Breaking: Removed the --log-console and --log-console-lines options. Logs are written to the log file only.
  • Breaking: Removed --format json-l.
  • Breaking: Changed the JSON message.kind of fxv doctor reset-sync from goto to doctor-reset-sync.
  • Added fxv repo upgrade, which upgrades a workspace's repositories, or a single repository given by its URI, and finishes an interrupted upgrade when run again.
  • Added fxv fetch, which updates a workspace's local copy of its remote repository, for plugins and integrations to keep it up to date, and fxv fetch --repair, which first downloads again any file of the local copy that fxv cannot read.
  • Added --skip-remote-update to fxv history, fxv branch list, and fxv branch info.
  • Added JSON output to fxv publish, fxv fetch, and fxv repo optimize, and a warnings field to JSON output for conditions a command continued past.
  • Added progress and a list of published files to fxv publish.
  • Added published_head to the fxv status JSON output for a workspace that has not synced yet.
  • Changed fxv repo new to check that the object store supports the features FlexVault relies on before creating anything, and to report storage errors more clearly.
  • Changed fxv status, fxv history, fxv branch list, and fxv branch info to report from the workspace's local copy, with a warning, when the remote repository cannot be reached.
  • Changed fxv status, fxv history, fxv branch list, and fxv branch info to run while another command is using the workspace, instead of exiting with code 99.
  • Changed JSON output to write paths with / separators on every platform.
  • Fixed workspaces of a remote repository becoming unable to load or publish after an interrupted or concurrent publish left their local copy out of step with the remote.
  • Fixed workspaces sharing a repository overwriting each other's changes when they published, or changed branches or users, at the same time. The second change fails instead, and can be retried.
  • Fixed an interrupted commit preventing later commits to a workspace or a local filesystem repository.
  • Fixed fxv repo optimize failing after an interrupted run on a local filesystem repository or a workspace's local data.

  • Added fxv copy, a new command for non-destructively copying files and directories from another revision into the workspace.

  • Added fxv integration, a new command family (list, register, unregister) for plugins and other integrations to register their compatible fxv version range.
  • Added a compatibility guard to fxv upgrade (--check, --to, --allow-incompatible) that blocks upgrades past the range a registered integration supports.
  • Fixed fxv status re-validating the remote repository over HTTP on every invocation.
  • Added HTTP request latency metrics, with a warning logged (and printed) when p90 latency exceeds a threshold.
